From what I've seen at the Apple forum, others also are reporting similar observations. Since the fact remains that the problem only occurs when Perian is installed, coming here in an attempt to contribute something constructive seemed like a good starting point. I really do not care what is to blame, only to find some solution. Hmm maybe we need to blacklist version checking in that process But I dont think that would. merely stating the fact that the problem goes away when Perian is deactivated. Im hoping an update of Perian will fix this. I would tend to agree but I don't recall making an argument one way or the other.
